Background
Born and raised in Columbus, Indiana. After graduating from Columbus North High School, I attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated with a B.A. in Humanities and Business Administration summa cum laude. I participated in the inaugural honors collegium for two years, won awards on the school’s Speech and Debate team, and edited academic publications.
I have a unique calling to the legal profession. On September 18, 2015, I was hit by a car as a pedestrian and lost a third of my skull. After being life-lined to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, I was diagnosed with a severe diffuse axonal brain injury down to my brainstem. This traumatic brain injury (TBI) required me to relearn just about everything, including how to walk, talk, and perform basic arithmetic all over again!
A month before the accident I proposed to my wife, Chelsea. She was living out the marriage vows before it even started, and I am so thankful for her. We were married six months later. In many ways, I credit Chelsea to my recovery.
Before the accident, I felt a call to ministry. I have always been captured by a desire to lead, educate, and support those around me. The accident did not change this desire but redirected it away from the pulpit and closer to the people. In 2016, I met Matthew Schad and the Schad Law team. They worked my TBI case quickly, efficiently, and effectively. It was here when I found my own calling to the legal profession.
Eight months after waking up from the coma, I started studying for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). The doctors emphasized – “Cameron, the hardest things for you now will be higher level thinking and executive function” – which only pushed me harder to study for the test. I really thought to myself, “If I could do this, I could do anything else.”
I achieved a high enough score on the LSAT to get into one of the nation’s top law schools. I founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Voice of TBI to help people with traumatic brain injuries. I went on to father four children during law school. And I achieved the highest score on the bar exam to be licensed in all UBE jurisdictions.
As a husband, father, Christian, attorney, and community leader, I am thankful to be where I am and look forward to seeing where others can go!

Here is a copy of the letter of recommendation Matthew Schad wrote for me after my first internship with the law firm originally known as “Schad & Schad Trial Lawyers” – when the Honorable Larry J. Schad was alive and running the firm with his sons. Mr. Schad passed away on March 18, 2021. His loss will always be felt.
